It is undeniable that the worsening environment has become the biggest concern of the present-day world. Land resources are dwindling because of water loss and soil erosion. Waste gases poison the air we breathe. The rivers and lakes are polluted by waste dumped in them from factories. It is probably no exaggeration to say that deterioration of the quality of the environment threatens the existence of mankind itself.
Some people are of the opinion that the environmental problem is the price we have to pay for economic development. But I do not think that this argument is valid. After all, what is the point of economic growth if people's lives are adversely alfected by worsening environmental pollution ?
不可否認(rèn)環(huán)境惡化已成為當(dāng)今世界最大的問題。土地資源在不斷減少,因?yàn)樗亮魇АU氣污染著我們呼吸的空氣。河流和湖泊被工廠的 倒出來(lái)的廢棄物所污染。這可以毫不夸張地說(shuō),環(huán)境質(zhì)量的惡化威脅著人類的`生存。
有些人認(rèn)為環(huán)境問題是我們因?yàn)榻?jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展而必須要付出的代價(jià)。但我不認(rèn)為這種觀點(diǎn)是有效的。畢竟,經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)的重點(diǎn)是什么?如果人們的生活環(huán)境被日益惡化、被嚴(yán)重污染了，那還有什么意義?

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. Right now I am talking about fighting for respect to our environment. Though the environment doesn’t have a mouth to deprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action. In the early years the Chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of the yellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terrible floods. As a result，the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. Another example was in several developed countries. Because many chemical factories discharged poisonous gas without filtering it, cities were covered with so much poisonous gas that people were killed by the air they breathed in. What horrible scene!
What we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered. If we don’t take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.
Measures should be taken to protect the environment on which we are relying. First governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well. Second voices should be made to announce the public of the importance of protecting the environment. Third enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions for the problems.
Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.
很多人都活躍在對(duì)抗不公平待遇有色人種、婦女、動(dòng)物等�，F(xiàn)在我談?wù)撘獱?zhēng)取尊重我們的環(huán)境。盡管環(huán)境沒有嘴巴來(lái)反對(duì)人類對(duì)她所做的一切，她通過行動(dòng)來(lái)報(bào)復(fù)。在早些年中國(guó)人在黃河的源頭大量砍伐樹木，導(dǎo)致了大森林的消失和可怕的洪水。結(jié)果，曾經(jīng)一度覆蓋草地和森林的黃土高原變成了植物稀少的荒漠。另一個(gè)例子是在一些發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家。因?yàn)樵S多化學(xué)工廠沒有過濾就排放有毒氣體，城市充滿了如此多的有毒氣體，人們通過呼吸這些空氣收到傷害。這是多么可怕的場(chǎng)景!
我們所痛苦的是只有一小部分的.自然曾經(jīng)收到破壞。如果我們不采取行動(dòng)，尊重環(huán)境，我們將不得不面對(duì)一個(gè)日益糟糕的情形。
保護(hù)環(huán)境應(yīng)采取我們依賴的措施。首先政府應(yīng)該禁止污染植被、河流和湖泊、海洋和大氣。第二，應(yīng)該宣布公眾保護(hù)環(huán)境的重要性。第三，企業(yè)應(yīng)特別注意對(duì)環(huán)境的影響和解決方案的問題。
只有通過改變我們對(duì)待環(huán)境的方式，我們才可以相處得很好。只有拯救環(huán)境，我們才能拯救我們自己。
