Just as is revealed in the pictures above, people are generally classified into two types: the pessimistic and the optimistic. We can see in one picture some people, long-faced and downhearted, are counting the nights by the shadows while in the other picture the happy-go-lucky people are enjoying the starry nights. What a contrastive view! Remember, it is not the bad thing that determines our state of mind but the way we look at it matters.

An example that comes to mind is SARS crisis that has recently torn apart and ravaged most of China. Admittedly, it has cost us quite a lot. Some people suffered from health damage and still some even lost their lives. And our economy suffers a temporary setback and a slowdown. However, we still have learnt and benefited a lot from it. 4. First things first, we are more concerned than never before with our health, and the environment we live in. Additionally, we tried and bettered and are still bettering our mechanism to respond to unexpected crises. These and other lessons at the expense of blood, tear, toil and sweat are benefiting and continue to benefit us and generations of Chinese to come.

The best way to overcome the frustrations brought about crises is to always take a positive outlook on life. Just as a well-known ancient Chinese notion goes, the past lessons if not forgotten are good teachers for us all. If we can bear in mind sufferings and ordeals we have experienced, then our sufferings will not go unrewarded.

My younger cousin got in trouble at school for kicking some other students. When asked why he did it, he responded that he had been imitating his favorite cartoon character. He had seen this behavior and decided to act similarly. His parents had enormous difficulties getting him to stop. This showed me that TV shows can be more influential than parents. Finally, young people often feel like they have nothing in common with their parents, so their parents' influence in their live decreases. Young people think their parents do. For example, many parents are not as proficient as their children are at using modern technology. They might not even know how to surf the Internet or use an MP3 player. This gap in knowledge makes it very hard for them to find common ground with their parents. In conclusion, modern media and the world of technology have much stronger influences on young people than their parents do. As young people get more absorbed in television, movies celebrities, and their friends, parents should expect to continue losing more control over their children. Many believe that outside influences have stronger effects on young people than their parents do. This, however, is a mistaken belief.

Crisis is to our life what illness is to our body. Just as fatal disease can destroy our body and sometimes even put an end to our lives, so does smashing crisis knock us down so hopelessly that we might never have chance of standing up again. However, most crises that frequent us in life are not such category. They, like occasional ailments which sometimes can bolster our body's immune system, are mostly minor and surmountable and therefore making us hardy enough to survive whatever adversities in our later life. Even those serious crises, if handled properly, can be turned to a blessing to us, too.

As far as a nation is concerned, crisis can be rendered beneficial. Take Wenchuan earthquake which shook most of Sichuan recently for example. The crisis has cost us Chinese a lot. Houses collapsed, bridges broke down and many affected areas were cut off from the outside world. Nearly a million people lost their homes, ten thousands of people were injured and another ten thousands of people were killed. But our sufferings won't go in vain. Scientists are more determined to improve the means by which we forecast earthquakes with more accuracy. We should build houses which can survive the destructive earthquakes. And we also should better the mechanism to face the emergencies and crisis.

As for economic life, crises are not always rendered bad. During these times, we can stop the race of fast economy to speculate about some fundamental issues of humanity such as how much high-speed development in this way can contribute to the well-being of human life. Just take my own country for instance. Of course, in the past two decades or so, our economy has gained the highest speed man has experienced. But haven't we paid too much? Our rivers are polluted. Our natural resources are shrinking. Our national power of creation is drained. Is it worthy of it? Isn't it high time we gave it a serious thought? Shouldn't we stop making ourselves long in quantity and short in quality? And chance of deep thought has come with this crisis, which is now deepening in most parts of the world.

Crisis sometimes contributes to our life treasure in a way that few can imagine. It can weather us and make us strong enough to face ourselves when we feel weak. Eric, my uncle is a case in point. He had hard time in his childhood going through such a fatal disease that he had never thought he could survive. He was in due course saved by doctors. Ever since then he regarded his life as a second given by God and has been so grateful to the world that he has been doing whatever he can to give back in the same measure to other fellows. And now he is living a happy and successful life.

As a well-known ancient Chinese notion goes, the past lessons if not forgotten can be good teachers for us all. If we can bear in mind the various sufferings and ordeals we have experienced, then our sufferings will not go unrewarded and those of our compatriots who was killed in the earthquake did not die in vain. We should take the lessons from crisis and regard them as a chance for new growth.

  Buying or Borrowing Books?

Books are close friends of humanity. They can arm us with knowledge and information we need to make success of life. Through books we can obtain skills and techniques for survival and development. Through books we can enlighten our spirits and live a fuller life. There are generally two ways in which we can have access to books: borrowing or buying. While millions are borrowing books, I still think buying them best suits me and gives me the greatest enjoyment.

Admittedly, there are a few merits for borrowing books. For one thing, borrowing books can save us huge amounts of money. And of course, with the money saved we can do other more worthy things .And also, as we borrow books from the library and friends, we normally have deadline to finish them, and consequently we can read more books in a limited time. And we can, above all, better our efficiency of our reading, just as a famous Chinese saying goes, “books can not be read unless borrowed.”

However, some advantages for buying books are more obvious and compelling. One of them, definitely not shared by the choice of borrowing books, is the abundance of freedom that buying books can offer us. Since we can keep the books as long as we wish, we can read as much as we want. Another strength of owing books is that we can take whatever notes on the margin of the pages of the books. And finally, the process of selecting and keeping books can be a great fun that borrowing books can by no means offer.

While borrowing books can, to some extent, quench our thirst for knowledge, buying books gives us greater pleasure of selecting and keeping the best of the world treasure. Can we think of any thing else more delightful and rewarding?

Should Universities Give Priority to Practical Courses for Students?

Because of the demands in the job market, students with "hot" degrees such as computer science or finance are more likely to get a job than students with a "cold" degree like geography. Some people say that universities should give priority to practical courses for students. But I think that traditional courses are equally important and universities should not give priority to practical courses.

First, both practical and traditional courses are needed in our country. Students who do well in different courses can help to develop different aspects of our country after their graduation. For example, our society needs not only people who can help to develop economy and technology, but also people who can contribute themselves to literature and education. Second, if universities give priority to practical courses, more students will choose those "hot" degrees. When these students graduate, they will have to fight harder for a job because there will be too many applicants with the same degrees. This will in turn cause an imbalance of supply and demand in the job market.

In one word, both practical courses and traditional courses are important, and universities should not give priority to either side.

People’s views towards the advantages and disadvantages of 主題詞 vary greatly. Some believe that 觀點(diǎn)1 , while others support that 觀點(diǎn)2 . As for me, I agree to the latter idea because its advantages outweigh its disadvantages.

There are dozen of reasons behind my belief. First of all, 論據(jù)一.

The second reason that can be seen by every person is that 論據(jù)二. For example, 理由二.

From the above, we can easily see that 主題詞 is beneficial to 總結(jié)理由一二.

It has long been a contentious issue as to whether 題目陳述. Some people are of the opinion that 觀點(diǎn)一, while others point out that 觀點(diǎn)二. As far as I am concerned, the latter opinion holds more weight.

  For one thing, 論據(jù)一.

  For another, 論據(jù)二.

Now, after close examination, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that 總結(jié)觀點(diǎn). Therefore, as a university student, we should 提出意見(jiàn).

As a result, some people are worried that A與B之間的矛盾. However, I don’t think their concerns are necessary, because A has some exclusive advantages over B.

  First of all, A 與 B比較優(yōu)勢(shì)一. A 的優(yōu)點(diǎn). However, B的缺點(diǎn).

  Furthermore, A 與B比較優(yōu)勢(shì)二. For example, 舉例說(shuō)明優(yōu)勢(shì)二.

  Last but not least, A 與B比較優(yōu)勢(shì)三. A的優(yōu)點(diǎn). In contrast, B 的缺點(diǎn).

In short, A has some merits that B doesn’t have. Therefore, 結(jié)論.

Nowadays, with 現(xiàn)象, people are becoming increasingly aware of the significance of 主題詞. In my point of view, 把標(biāo)題變?yōu)殛愂鼍? There are numerous reasons to support my point of view, and I would explore only a few of the most important ones here.

One of the primary causes is that 理由一. If you look around, you will always find that 舉例證明一.

Another reason that can be seen by every person is that 理由二. A good case in point is 舉例證明二.

So from what has been discussed, one can reach only this conclusion that 結(jié)論.

  1、適合The Best Way型

Nowadays, it is a heatedly discussed topic that 引出話題. People have put forward various ways, such as 例一,例二,例三, etc. As for me, the best way to 主題詞 is 論點(diǎn).

The benefits for my ideas can be generalized to two major ones. First of all, 理由一.

Another benefit is that 理由二.

  In conclusion, 總結(jié).

  2、My Idea型

This problem is a much debated one in that it affects almost everybody in their daily lives. As a college student, I think that 論點(diǎn).

  To begin with, 理由一.

A further reason why I support this is that 理由二. There is a good evidence to show that 證明理由二.

From what has been discussed above, a conclusion can be drawn that 結(jié)論.

  How to Keep Psychologically Healthy?

Nowadays more and more people are concerned about mental health issue. It is reported that the number of people committing suicide is on the rise. Many of them committed suicide just because of some little frustration such as failing an exam. If they had paid more attention to their mental health, they might not have reacted in such an extreme way.

How to keep ourselves psychologically healthy? First, we should adjust ourselves to the new conditions. When we go to a university as freshmen, or go to work in a strange city, we may become nervous because everything is so unfamiliar. The only way out is to adjust ourselves to the new conditions and shake off the anxiety quickly. Second, we should know our-selves well and admit that we are just ordinary people. Knowing that ordinary people may not be good at everything, we can easily accept some small failures in our lives. Third, we should try to share our feelings with friends.
