The cheongsam is a female dress with distinctive Chinese features and enjoys a growing popularity in the international world of high fashion.
The name "cheongsam," meaning simply "long dress," entered the English vocabulary from the dialect of China's Guangdong Province (Cantonese). In other parts of the country including Beijing, however, it is known as "qipao", which has a history behind it.
When the early Manchu rulers came to China proper, they organized certain people, mainly Manchus, into "banners" (qi) and called them "banner people" (qiren), which then became loosely the name of all Manchus. The Manchu women wore normally a one-piece dress which, likewise, came to be called "qipao" or "banner dress." Although the 1911 Revolution toppled the rule of the Qing (Manchu) Dynasty, the female dress survived the political change and, with later improvements, has become the traditional dress for Chinese women.
Easy to slip on and comfortable to wear, the cheongsam fits well the female Chinese figure. Its neck is high, collar closed, and its sleeves may be either short, medium or full length, depending on season and taste. The dress is buttoned on the right side, with a loose chest, a fitting waist, and slits up from the sides, all of which combine to set off the beauty of the female shape.
The cheongsam is not too complicated to make. Nor does it call for too much material, for there are no accessories like belts, scarves, sashes or frills to go with it.
Another beauty of the cheongsam is that, made of different materials and to varying lengths, they can be worn either on casual or formal occasions. In either case, it creates an impression of simple and quiet charm, elegance and neatness. No wonder it is so much liked by women not only of China but of foreign countries as well.

Hello, everyone! I’m Zhou Kexin. Today I am so glad to share my trip to Changzhou Spring City with you. It was a very pleasant trip for me.

They are very special. The most interesting place was the zoo inside. There are many animals, such as, tigers, elephants, zebras and monkeys.
Monkeys are my favorite animals. They are our good friends. Later I went to the Children 's playground, it’s children’s world. I played happily with my parents. Finally, we watched 4D movies, It was very exciting。

Cheongsams their style gown by Manchu women from restructuring, it said. Is the beginning of the Republic of China Chinese women wear, long gown with a traditional style. Generally agreed that ethnic Manchu cheongsam dress is different from the "service flag", the modern cheongsam is a Chinese characteristics, to meet the West and adopt Western-style tailored aesthetic, and the rise in two decades on behalf of, on behalf of the fashion prevalent in three to four decades.
Because of the large-scale epidemic cheongsams and propaganda films in recent years, many people, particularly those with little knowledge of history to the young people of the country cheongsams served as China's view. The view is not correct. Cheongsam is a fashion, a witness of the era.

Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty.
As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.
65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.
In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 2002, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.
Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.
Thank you.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. It’s great to be here. First of all, thanks for your coming. Tonight, what I am gonna talk about is innovation. Who can tell me what is innovation? We all know that, since 1978, China has been through the greatest changes brought by the reform and opening-up. So what we can see from the reform and opening-up? The power of innovation. That’s why I am here. I am here to show you my Chinese dream. I want to talk about the future and how we're going to win it. If we want to make innovation. But firstly, we should make sure that China is a place where we can make it if we try, where we can go as far as hard work and big dreams will take us. We understand that it’s not going to be a cakewalk, this competition for the future, which means all of us are going to have to do our best. We are going to have to win the future by being smarter and working harder and working together. Innovation is the spirit of our country, the motive force for our country’s prosperity.
Sparking the imagination and creativity of our people, unleashing new discoveries -- that's what China will do better than any other country on Earth. From the moment we have a new idea, we can explore it; we can develop it with a research grant; we can protect it with a patent; we can market it with a loan to start a new business. We’ve got a chain that takes a great idea all the way through. We must be confirmed that, today, the challenges we face are real.
They are serious they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But we will somehow find a way to overcome the difficulties. My major is XXX. My job is to discover or create new drugs for many diseases like cancer. You know that laboratory is the place where miracles happen. Believe it or not. What I do can save millions of people’s lives. For a long time, what challenges me is how to commercialize research. You come up with a great idea, but moving that new discovery from theory to practice or from the lab to the marketplace, that's re ally a big job. That’s what we should focus on.
We need to act with a sense of urgency-to study and work and create as if the fate of the country depends on us-because it does. It depends on us. Thank you!

Good afternoon, everyone!
The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.
Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.
Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.
What I want to stress is that each of us should listen more to others. Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinions even though you don’t like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.
Thank you for your listening!

gettysburg address
four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.
we are met on a great battlefield of that war. we have come to dedicate a portion of the field as a final resting-place for those who here gave their lives that the nation might live. it is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. but in a larger sense we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground.
the brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract.the world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here.
it is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. it is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us, ----that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion, ----that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, ----that this nation, under god, shall have a new birth of freedom, ----and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
