Finally, I draw a very interesting makeup for dad. And then I go back to watch TV. About half an hour later, he shouts loudly when he is doing with his hair. I laugh loudly, because he is shocked by himself and he isn’t angry with me.

常在網(wǎng)上看到爭(zhēng)論英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)的帖子，其意見大致有兩種：
一、全球化趨勢(shì)明顯，英語(yǔ)已成為一項(xiàng)重要的技能，為與老外交流，必學(xué)；
二、英語(yǔ)是可以學(xué)，但不能提升到高于中文的高度，不能本末倒置。
我覺得兩種意見有有理，因?yàn)槌忠庖娙藢W(xué)英語(yǔ)的目的不同，所以難免各有所見。但我更偏向于第一種。就我個(gè)人來說，理由有三。
首先我喜歡美景，尤其是那地中海柔軟的沙灘、明媚的陽(yáng)光，和愛琴海湛藍(lán)的海水以及那撲面而來的浪漫氣息，多么令人陶醉。所以為了能順利地在國(guó)外溜達(dá)，學(xué)好英語(yǔ)是十分必要的。要是能結(jié)交個(gè)黃發(fā)碧眼的俊男美女，那豈不是更過癮？！
我想我現(xiàn)在學(xué)英語(yǔ)是比較吃力的，因?yàn)槲乙呀?jīng)過了學(xué)習(xí)語(yǔ)言的最好年齡了。究其原因，因?yàn)槲业母改覆痪ㄓ⒄Z(yǔ)。所以啊，為了將來我的'下一代，我必須得好好努力，學(xué)好英語(yǔ)，從小對(duì)他（她）進(jìn)行雙語(yǔ)教學(xué)。然后我就培養(yǎng)出一個(gè)大人才，哈哈……打住，又做白日夢(mèng)了。以上是我學(xué)英語(yǔ)的目的之二。
這第三點(diǎn)，其實(shí)是最重要的一點(diǎn)——上大學(xué)�，F(xiàn)在英語(yǔ)也是中、高考中的一個(gè)“重地”了。眾所周知，在戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)中取得重地便能有效制敵，取得先機(jī)。在考場(chǎng)上也是如此，英語(yǔ)可有150分啊，我怎么能讓這1/5的分值從我指中溜走呢？我“寒窗苦讀”了十多年，不就是想考個(gè)好高中、好大學(xué)嗎？為了不被擠下“獨(dú)木橋”，我必須學(xué)好英語(yǔ)。

In fact over 80% of all marine pollution comes from land-based activities and many pollutants are deposited in estuaries and coastal waters.
Here the pollutants enter marine food chains, building up their concentrations until they reach toxic levels.
It often takes human casualties to alert us to pollution and such was the case in Minimata Bay in Japan when many people died as a result of a pollutant building up in food chains.
A factory was discharging waste containing methyl mercury in low concentrations into the sea and as this pollutant passed through food chains it became more concentrated in the tissues of marine organisms until it reached toxic levels.
As a consequence 649 people died from eating fish and shellfish contaminated with mercury and 3500 people suffered from mercury poisoning.
